Welcome to Butterflies Montessori School

Butterflies Montessori is a private school for 2 - 5 year olds, situated in its own premises adjacent to Warley Primary School in Chindits Lane, Warley, Brentwood. Our daily sessions are held in 3 bright classrooms with access to a large outside play area. The aim of our school is to provide excellent Montessori education in a happy, relaxed and secure environment. The philosophy of Montessori education emphasises the potential of the individual in ways specific to each child. We will help your child to find their own potential and independence whilst on this journey of self-discovery and aid them in becoming a balanced, well-mannered and confident individual.

When a young doctor called Maria Montessori first started observing the way children learn, she noticed something extraordinary. By using certain types of equipment, modelled upon materials which the children observed every day in the world around them, a child's cognitive development could be achieved through sensory experiences over which the child had complete control.

"Staff have an excellent knowledge and understanding of how children learn. They use this to provide highly stimulating and engaging educational programmes, which spark children's imagination and curiosity. As a result, all children make rapid progress given their starting points and capabilities." -Ofsted Report 11/06/15

"All staff are highly skilled and sensitive in helping children form secure emotional attachments. They provide an exceptionally strong base for children's developing independence and exploration."  -Ofsted Report 11/06/15

"Partnerships with parents are exceptional and a particular strength at the nursery. Staff entirely value parents as partners and place the highest priority on working closely with them."  -Ofsted Report 11/06/15

"Staff have an extremely comprehensive knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues to effectively promote children's welfare. This means children remain safe and healthy as they are exceptionally well protected, both indoors and outdoors."  -Ofsted Report 11/06/15

"Managers show a strong focus and passionate drive to provide excellent care and inspirational learning to children. Every aspect of the provision is superbly monitored, which enables them to exceed the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage."  -Ofsted Report 11/06/15
